yes I was talking about field players,
clarification below.
Howard was at Man Utd and deemed not
the level for Championship play. My personal belief is that Howard is a top
notch goalie, one of the top 5 in the EPL. Everton's gain.
Friedel is another good example.
Still a classy goalie, still a few years left.
EPL is 3 groups, one that fights
for Champion League spots, one that fights for UEFA cup spots and one that
fights for survival, I'd put both teams in the mid
bracket.
Another thing I might mention is
that goalies and field players are two different breeds, we do develop goalies
over here much better than we develop field players, why I don’t know. Goalies
are also a scarce product so when there are a good one on the market they tend
to be swept up fast by the bigger clubs who like to have 2-3 top goalies on
their books, field players are a much bigger market so clubs have a bigger and
wider variety to buy from.
