Just my 5 cents. first of all I have been impressed with Dempsey since he got to play at Fulham. Much better players than him have come to England and failed. however to my mind there are a few factors that needs to be looked in this situation. first Fulham made a huge mistake by fire Chris Colman, his system was based on utilizing each players skills into his system. Fulham was a much better playing and a much more efficient team with him as a coach. second, Brian McBride is missing which mean about 50 percent of Fulhams attacking force is missing. McBride has earned the respect and reputation from the bigger clubs which leads to double teaming him at most times which opened up areas for the other players. Dempsey doesn't have that r&r yet, but it might come. if Fulham had both McBride and Dempsey up front at the same time it would have been a lethal combo. third, both fulham and Wigan is in a relegation battle which is not an American thing. once teams get into that battle they have to resort to tactics a little easier than what they normally would play like. at this point it is all about getting a point at the away ground and 3 points at home. all tactics and all skills out the window, it is a steam train going forward. my conclusion is that at the moment there are no American players that can move to England and take a starting job on the top 10 clubs, but if they go and get jobs at the lover clubs they should take them. it is much more beneficial to them to play week in and week out against world class players, they gain the speed, physicality, mentality and necessary skills to make it on the world stage of soccer. however it is only if they get to play of course, if they are not getting any playing time then they should stay and play locally at their own level of play. --- See all of today's Soccer News Links at: http://www.sams-army.com/ NAS is hosted by America Kicks (http://www.americakicks.com) To subscribe or unsubscribe: http://nas.americakicks.com To post, send an email to nas@americakicks.com
