One other point on the health of the league, where it has been and where it is going - in 2001, MLS had essentially Hunt, Kraft and Anshutz in and Horowitz wanting out. (Am I forgetting anyone?) Now you have the new owners in Salt Lake, Colorado, New York and Vergara with the Toronto group on the way in and ownership groups looking at Cleveland, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Milwaukee, etc. And unlike Horowitz, these folk will more likely know the score as MLS learned their lesson from Horowitz - if someone wants to be an owner, they have to be ready to really do all the things it takes to be an owner. Granted, in 2007 it will be easier than it was in 2001 (labor peace - not something to be underestimated, proof that SSSs can work, now revenue-based television deals, the whole SUM process, as mentioned above diversified ownership, stabilized expansion as I think it is safe to say that both Chivas and RSL have done better than Miami was doing).

made a significant career move to take the job I currently have. I am as confident now as I was when I took the job that it was the right move. MLS is on the rise.
