I would go so far as to say that Portland will never get an MLS team unless
a soccer-specific stadium is built. The city owns PGE Park, and has shown
nearly zero interest in making it work for MLS. As far as the city is
concerned an MLS team there would rank number 4 in terms of importance
behind minor league baseball, Portland State football and high school
football. Yes, I believe the city would give priority to high school
football over MLS.
