From what I understand they wanted to play it in the DC area, but RFK, Fed-EX Field, and M&T Bank Stadiums in Baltimore, weren't available. Why they didn't look at Byrd Stadium at Maryland, about 7 miles form RFK, or Navy's 30,000 seat stadium 20 miles away in Annapolis, I am not sure. The latest now is, because Red Bulls are playinng Barcelona on August 12, they didn't want to risk having those games compete for ticket buyers given the already insane prices they are asking for these friendlies.
Also a factor was Real was traveling and playing in the western U.S. already. --- See all of today's Soccer News Links at: http://www.sams-army.com/ NAS is hosted by America Kicks (http://www.americakicks.com) To subscribe or unsubscribe: http://nas.americakicks.com To post, send an email to nas@americakicks.com
