The reason the Sounders aren't playing/hosting is that this deal was initiated 
by DC United.

United was originally trying to make this deal to play in the DC area.  But, 
RFK was already booked by the Nationals and the Redskins wouldn't let them rent 
FedExField, eventhough they're first home game is a week later than the 
Seahawks.  They even looked into using the Orioles stadium at Camden Yards in 
Baltimore but Real Madrid turned that one down.  There were also reports that 
Real Madrid didn't want to compete for customer dollars with Barcelona, who 
will be playing the Red Bulls.  So, somehow, the game ended up at the Seahawks 
stadium in Seattle.
