There's no question that there is a certain "event" charm to this game. 
No one here has ever seen RM and probably had little chance of ever 
seeing them. I'm sure that's what has driven the price. Yet what you've 
said is also true: that the US has not risen to a level of interest and 
savvy so high that they recognize the value of that price (or, as I'd 
say, the lack of value in that price). This game will likely sell out. 
Soccer's pretty popular here, but even more important, the number of 
idle rich wanting to be associated with any event in this area is very 
large (yes, Seattle has become a real "it" city, much to my chagrin). 
That's unfair to the "real" sports fan, but probably reflects the 
broader reality that, more and more, these things are less about the 
sport and more about the event. So the damage in charging this is not 
that it won't sell out but, rather, the long-term effect that such 
prices have on skewing the process of saturation and, ultimately, the 
expectation the new fan has of the game. That's where my real concern 
is. D
