Title: Re: [nas] Wynalda's comments on Yallop
While I applaud the idea of having a color commentator who’s not afraid to say something controversial, Wynalda reminds me of an old adage my parents used to use: ‘better to remain silent and let people think you’re an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt’

His assertion that Burch is a ‘better choice at forward’ than Coiner is also laughable. He’s seen Coiner in MLS one game AT MOST before the LA game – and now he’s telling Sigi Schmid how to coach?

I expect to hear this kind of stuff from 13 year-olds with clever screen names on some forums site, not throughout a nationally televised match.

The brand of Kool-Aid Wynalda drinks is somewhere between

Subject: [nas] Wynalda's comments on  Yallop

Speaking of Wynalda's comments on shoes, did any of you hear his comments  about Frank Yallop as a good pick for US coach? If so, what do you think about  that?

I've never been a big fan of Wynalda the player, and he seems like he  wants to be the Johnny Miller of Soccer by taking shots on the air at players  and coaches, and I though it was a unnessary shot taken at Bruce Arena on  Saturday. His comments were Bruce now being back at the MLS was the "right"  level for him and that because a guy like Yallop "played" professionally  in the league and at internatonal level, somehow made him better equipped to  be head coach of the USMNT.

Wynalda already had sarcastically smacked Arena's lacrosse background  during the WC saying something like "..this guy just put his (lacrosse)sticks  down 20 years ago ......" when whinning about the lackluster first game  against the Czech Republic.

Did Yallop do something with Canada's soccer program during the last WC  qualifiying that I missed? I don't think they got to the final 6 of the group  did they?

No offense meant  to Frank, and I am probably a little sensitve to  BA, but Yallop shouldn't even be on the radar to be the US head coach in  my view.
