2. ON THE MOVE: U.S. U-17 forward Zimmerman headed to Hamburg SV
Forward Preston Zimmerman, who started all four games during the U.S.
U-17s' quarterfinal run at the U-17 World Championship in September,
has reached an agreement with German First Division Hamburg SV,
according to his agent, Lyle Yorks.
Zimmerman, who turns 18 in November, scored and assisted at the World
Championship and is the first player from the 2005 U-17 World
Championship squad to land a foreign deal. The Washington state product
had previously intended to play college ball at Duke.
At Hamburg he joins former U.S. U-20 star and UCLA Bruin Benny
Feilhaber, 20, who has been playing on Hamburg's reserve team, which
plays in the Third Division.
