If I can find the link, I'll post it but before the playoffs began when
DC was in a nasty little tail spin in September and October, there was a
article in suggesting DC United was tired of him and he was tired of DC
United and might have options overseas.

Funny how things work out, isn't it? 1/2 to 2/3 of the MLS season
through the All-Star game, DC United was on pace to set a league
all-time points record as well as a record for fewest loses in a season.
With a MLS team made up mostly of DC United players, they beat Chelsea
1-0 and then followed up a few days later with a 1-1 draw against Real
Madrid in Seattle. Novak was talked about as a possible successor to
Bruce Arena as the national team coach. However after that Real Madrid
game, the season turned 180 degrees. Despite having a points total that
made them the Supporters Shield winner, they might have had the worst
record in MLS in the last 1/3 of the season 2-5-5 for 11 points, ONE win
and 5 losses in their last 8 homes games including the playoffs. The
lone home win was 4-3 against NYRB in mid Sep where they almost choked
away a 2 goal lead in the last 10 minutes. Then they struggled to get a
1-1 draw agaisnt NYRB in second leg of playoffs and they were finished
off with the 1-0 loss to NE at RFK in the conference final.

Interesting to see they traded Freddy Adu AND now have let Novak go. It
makes me think even more now Freddy's trade was all about showcasing him
to raise his value on the international market.

I can't imagine Nowak leaving a good position with a well organized
front office in order to take over an interim position, unless he has
some sort of guarantee to stay on should US Soccer go after a
permanent
replacement. So does this mean Bradley is officially will be removing
the interim part of the title?

Were there any signs that Nowak was fed up with something in DC or
with
MLS in general?
