Maybe I'm just being naive or something, but I really can't see the fed putting $10 million at risk (roughly what qualifying for the World Cup is worth). I *could* see them going with uncapped teams for friendlies while continuing to pick the experienced players for qualifiers and basically dare them to strike. ----- Original Message ----- From: PAKURILECZ@aol.com [mailto:PAKURILECZ@aol.com] Sent: 12/16/2004 5:07:24 PM To: nas@americakicks.com Subject: [nas] Lock Out? > NYTimes > U.S. Veterans Told To Cut Deal or Sit > By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS > Published: December 15, 2004 > Filed at 8:26 p.m. ET > > NEW YORK (AP) -- The U.S. Soccer Federation is threatening to drop all >experienced players from the roster for its next World Cup qualifier unless the union agrees to a new labor contract by Feb. 1. > > http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/sports/AP-SOC-US-Labor-Dispute.html > > http://snipurl.com/bf63 > > -- > Peter A.
