Technically speaking, with two new teams, there are (at minimum) 44 new MLS player spots over last year. If you add 2 Internations per team, you're eliminating 20 spots from the original teams. But you're adding 26 US-citizen/green-card spots on the new teams.

Sounds like MLS has room for 6 more Americans than last year.
