By the by, the number of YI's is capped, so if Chivas trades for more then their original allotment some other team will have lees YI's. The number of Americans will remian the same.
So maybe they will become soccer's version of the Yankees, loved at home, hated everywhere else. Fine with me. I suscribe to the old Howard Cossell adage: Love me, hate me, but don't ignore me. MLS righ now falls into the latter of the three. Something had to change.

P-40 or roster-exempt young US player slot instead?

IOW, this is a temporary situation for their first 2 years. After that,
either the rules are changed (again) or their team make up must be
changed
to match the rest of the league.
