Three or even four foreign allocations per team in a countries league makes
sense. Any more is crazy especially in a new league.

In youth soccer in NYC there is an organization called FIAO Federation Italian
American Organizations. Like the brooklyn italians you do not have to be
italian to play for either club just have to be a player. As some know we have
had a continuous influx of Russians into NYC especially in Brooklyn.Which I
like because it is bringing new players into Soccer here in Brooklyn. The more
good players the better is how I look at it.

So when a few Russian coaches put a youth team together. They even coach
speaking Russian but they had no home field, and they did not form a club
because they lack start up money. So they did not enter the big travel league
that we play in CJSL. So what do they do? They ask the people who run FIAO if
they can join the club. FIAO says yes sure why not. Now the Russians don't have
to form their own club they have everything handed to them. They now need no
start up money which is about 2000 to 3000 dollars for a new club and team with
all the things you need. There now under the FIAO flag. Which means they also
have to follow the rules of the club. They did not like that part of it.

Part of the rules is if any player wants to join the age group of the Russian
coaches team and if they can play they have to take them. They can't say no
because he is non Russian. They however did not want non Russians on their team
because of that the club FIAO didn't want that team with the club anymore. The
season after they were out.

Their is a moral to this somewhere concerning the MLS and the Mexican club
playing in it. Like what does the league gain by having this club with all it's
foreign players in the league? Money is not enough reason, and if they did
change the foreign allocation rule to bring in more foreign players it was
probably directly because they wanted to make it easier for the Mexican team to
bring in more foreign players. To keep that club happy.

That, down the road could have the effect of being the beginning of the end for
this league.
