I don't think DC are the evil empire at all. They have been so bad since they won last time, mostly because of league intervention, that I don't think they can be looked at that way. They don't really have more money to spend than anyone else so its a non-issue. In terms of strongarm tactics to get Freddy, I really don't see what else they could have done. The kid is 15 and grew up in that area since coming to the country. He may be the best player ever to play in this country when all is said and done. It's important for him that he be where he is comfortable. I just wish there weren't convoluted rules that need to be circumvented as a result of the single-entity. Considering the potential price tag on his eventual transfer, I think the league was right to do what it could to get him where he wanted to play. Freddy was a good player this year, but I wouldn't rate him as one of their best right now. There were quite a few players in that team that had nice seasons this year.
