Major League Soccer REACHES Agreement with MLS Players
Union on Collective Bargaining Agreement
CBA Heads to Union Membership and MLS Board of
Governors for Ratification
NEW YORK (Thursday, November 11, 2004) - Major League
Soccer (MLS) and the Major League Soccer Players Union
(MLSPU) today announced that the two sides
have reached agreement on a Collective Bargaining
Agreement (CBA), the first in League history, to run
through the end of the 2009 season. The MLSPU's
20-player Bargaining Committee on Thursday recommended
that the terms of the CBA be taken to its membership
for ratification, a process expected to take
several weeks.
