Club America can bite me. They've been saying since January that they were two weeks away from buying the Quakes and the fact that they're meeting with folks in Houston to see about stadium availability does nothing to change the fact that they have no deal with AEG to buy the team.

I suppose I should be happy that they're helping to motivate some of the politicians around the South Bay but their machismo with the press is getting old.

The San Jose Earthquakes are set to be officially sold to Mexico's Club
America, and meetings this past week have determined the Quakes' new home
will be either in Houston or San Antonio for the 2005 season, according to
multiple sources close to the situation.

While nothing is set to be announced officially for months in an attempt to
avoid a "lame duck" scenario for the rest of this season in San Jose, MLS
and Club America would agree on the second Mexican operator/investor join
the United States' top flight in the past 18 months.
