No
disagreement. Just pointing out that Mia would also be gone if not for her fan
status. As for her play on the field, she's remarkable in spite of the
roadblocks that are put in front of her.
When Mia played at UNC, or for Anson or Tony with the women's national team I
can't remember too many times that Mia played a full 90. Now she plays 90 almost
all of the time. Nothing worse then wasting resources. Mia is great when she
gets the ball, but on a team that focuses on getting set play and crossing goals
she is wasted -- and yes, I realize that she takes a lot of corners and free
kicks so that all of the tall players can be in the box...
I also have a problem having a coach that played with current players. I can't
see April cutting Foudy, Lilly etc. The game has become pretty boring. A lot of
people that used to watch the US women's team has no interest in it. This really
doesn't seem like a good way to revive the WUSA.
Let's see what happens in the next two games against Australia and China.

That's why Tiff and Shannon are no longer on the team --
interesting to note that in yesterday's pregame it was mentioned that Mia
was the most recognizable player and that she *had* to play. Mia is in, on
the field because of her star power.
Mia is on the field because
she is still a fantastic athlete and player.
