This is probably the last time silver goals will ever be used and they are very new. Basically, you play an entire 15 minute extra time period once it starts. Fifa only allows the traditional full 30 minutes of extratime for all competitions starting on July 1, 2004 and later.

I think the silver goal is an interesting compromise, but because golden goal is so conservative, they may as well play the full 30 anyway.
