I was very surprised when watching this to hear that Monaco had trouble attracting more than 5.000 fans to its home matches on a regular basis. Earlier, Derek Rae had referred to Porto and Monaco as European middleweights - in the case of Monaco's support, if true, I would put them more in the flyweight class.
There are some national team players on that club. Thanks to FSW, I have seen a good number of Ligue Un encounters, and though I could see attendance was not on a par with EPL, Bundesliga or La Liga, the home attendance of Monaco shocked me - I had never noticed it when watching this club.
It makes MLS look like a very thriving institution indeed. Can anyone give us a rundown on MLS attendance this year vs. the past - and can anyone tell me more about the Monaco situation? Perhaps I misunderstood.
