I think with the kind of team Bruce will put on the field in 2006 WC I guy like Reyna will keep our strikers from scoring goals. We should be, and have the players to be a quick strike team right at the time of transition as we first win the ball. Before the opposing team can get number back and organize. That means we cannot back pass or pass horizontally  as we win the ball like Reyna likes to do. That will give the opponent time to get their defensive shape. Then what are we to do?  Swing 40 crosses in against big teams who are better then us as a team in the air, and try to score with our smaller team with are one "big" striker?

I would love to know how Arena works with his strikers to give them at lot of different kinds of chances to score in a session. They should have this kind of finishing practice in every practice. They should have servers on both flanks wing mids, and one in the middle of the field an offensive mid and serve balls to our strikers against defensive pressure 1 or 2 backs so strikers can go 1 v 1 and even 1 v 2.  Then as a team 4 backs and a defensive mid and a keeper against the flank servers, the strikers, and the offensive mid.

So the strikers are seeing all kinds of service from both sides of the field and from the offensive mid, and they can join into the attack as well. So whatever they see on the attack they have seen it all 1000's of times before. You get 1000's of repetitions you going to be a better finishers. Play on a half field and a third of the field.
