Unfortunately, I don't think he will learn to finish at a higher level until
he plays at a higher level. At this point, I think Il Bruce should consider
playing Landon as the No. 10 (he sure seems to play great there when he
plays there, and is now mature enough to do it) and sod his finishing until
he is The General. He'd be better off getting other potential forwards up
to speed. Forwards are important, but as many saw in Korea, a true No. 10
like Reyna is the key. I doubt Bobby is going to be that player.

Either that, or Il Bruce needs to engineer Landon's transfer to a league
higher than MLS. I tell you, if Landon had been playing in Germany the year
before '02 and had learned how to finish against higher quality keepers (not
that MLS has shoddy keepers, but they aren't at the level of the Bundesliga,
etc.) he finishes at least one of the those shots on goal against Germany.
(Granted, I understand that he got to where he was because of the confidence
he gained in MLS - but now that he has that confidence, he needs to be
overseas. Just one fellows opinion.)

Those are my thoughts. I have to admit, I have come around to a certain
degree on the theory that Landon needs to be happy, so if he is happy here,
so be it. But I still think he would develop more in a more competitive
league.
