Is the most talented 14 yr old professional footballer in the world a
"GIMMICK"?
I do not think so.  It is apples and oranges to compare Freddy to making the
goals larger, or the shoot-out, etc.  Is Freddy going to bring out that
"huge"
Ghana population out to the matches??? Perhaps that crucial 13 year old
market
we have been targeting?
  No, Freddy is an entirely different
ball of wax then signing Hernandez in LA.....   again, Freddy is no
"gimmick."
This is new territory for MLS.  The only comparison I can think of coming
close
is the aquisition of Landon from Leverkusen.

Perhaps the attention and hype Freddy has brought to
the league, the fans that have shown up to just see this "wonderkind",
the ABC's etc, the MLS brass- who knows a lot of the hype and
attendance for DC's matches were because of Freddy,
 just perhaps have expressed a "desire" to at least see him
played in the match for a few minutes to take advantage of this attention
and please the fans who came out to see him or tuned into the match on
tv????
This is not the same as saying men in black suits and sunglasses showed up
at Nowak's door and said, " the boss would really like to see the kid
play".....


I am one voice in the wilderness. Call me a lout or just dismiss my thoughts
if it makes you feel better.
However, just perhaps, through some miraculous osmosis from interacting with
the folks
on this list through the years, some of everyone's astute observations and
even some
business acumen may have rubbed off that allows me to suggest something
so...."radical"......
