[nas] Off-topic: player fired for refusing to warm up

(Pretend I find some plausible connection between the following anecdote
and the current debate around Freddy Adu not-starting as a way of making
this post slightly less off-topic. But really, I just thought you'd find
it amusing.)

In the 90th minute of this weekend's Ajax-RBC Roosendaal game, RBC coach
Robert Maaskant told Nigerian substitute Ode Thompson to get ready to
play. The player refused to do so, unwilling to warm up for only a few
minutes of action. The Nigerian was fired on the spot. Thompson wasn't
even welcome on the RBC team bus and had to take a train back to
Roosendaal.
