Coventry City have suffered a blow with the news that striker Onandi Lowe has been arrested by police for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

The Jamaican marksman, who has made just the two appearances for The Sky Blues following his move from Rushden & Diamonds, was arrested on Wednesday.

The First Division outfit cannot comment on the matter involving their player, who was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to supply, due to the legal proceedings involved.

"Coventry City striker Onandi Lowe has informed the club that he has been arrested with possession of a package containing an illegal substance," said a club spokesman.

"Due to resulting legal proceedings against Onandi, Coventry City are unable to comment on this matter at the present time."

A spokesman for the Northamptonshire police confirmed: "On Wednesday, April 14 a man and a woman were arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and attempting to supply a controlled drug."
