All good points Rick. My main one would be John was a pretty amazing and
clutch sub this year for Bradley, why can't he be this for the USMNT as well
? Do we have any players who specialize in coming off the bench to score
goals????? We can see, at the very least for a couple of friendlies anyways.
And also, many outside chance players who have been given a opprotunity by
Bruce in the past have taken the opprotunity. Can't this callup at least be
a example to others, that if you are a strong team player, work hard, and
score clutch goals, you can get a opprotunity to play for your country too ?
Thats a strong motivational messgae and opprotunity to continue the building
of the player pool IMO. And finally, I am sure Bradley recommended John to
Bruce, and I certainly cannot argue with that.

Yep. As long as he's an American. If he can score goals I don't care if he's
an A leaguer or Santa Claus. He deserves a chance.

We don't have many big physical

target forwards. McHead is aging. Woly has decent ball control, he takes
people on, he puts the ball on frame, he has good positioning, he gives
100%. How many american forwards can you say that about?

That might mean our game should not be about big physical target players. It
might mean our game should be about quickness and speed.

Why can't we have options? We don't have the luxury of playing the same way
every game, we're not that good. We have a few quick guys, but they're all
small. I think Woly's a long shot, but the guy had some great goals in
clutch situations this year, and for a big guy, he's actually very fast.
It's not like we have a bunch of great forwards locking up starting spots on
the Nats. Give the guy a shot. Why not.
