or it could be that the owner switched out the netting

Additionally, units sold prior to Wal-Mart selling them could have been from higher quality materials. Wal-Mart is known for forcing the vendors to sell at a lower price point – well, to maintain profit margins, they cut the materials strengths down as much as possible.

well I'll beg to differ. I regularly shop at Walmart and have not had a problem with materials. in fact i've been very impressed with their cooking utensils lately top notch materials and equal to if not better than target.  and as a result of their clout W-M is able to provide goods and services at a lower price to their customers. having forced manufacturers to look carefully at their manufacturing processes to achieve lower prices that can be passed on to the WM customers

For example, I looked at bedsheets recently in wal-mart and they now sell 120-threadcount sheets! At 180, you get massive pilling. This is much lower quality and for the same price as the same sheet a few years ago at 180 thread count.

well you're shopping at the wrong W-M then because the one i shop at has 300 thread count sheets. W-M is very cognizant of the socio-economics of the neighborhood where their stores are located. here in richmond I frequent two different Sams Clubs and they both have different items on sale. The same goes for the Walmart near my house. Very heavy hispanic customer base and the materials on sale reflect their desires and yet a W-M not 20 minutes away has different items for sale.

/rant off

thats okay I understand that not everyone is a big fan of WM, but a large number of folks sure shop there
