Boy, Krishnaiyer's piece is terrible. He trumpets Eriksson's great accomplishments and lists
1. Making Vela a starter (this happened before Sven arrived)
2. Making Gio a starter (he was already being worked in)
3. Bringing back Blanco after years away (this happened back in 2007)
4. Bringing back Guille Franco after years away (Sven did this but dropped him again right afterward)

Personally, I'm in favor of a hiring a strong foreign coach for the US, but let's be realistic. Thus far Sven's impact on Mexico has been practically nil.

I just wanted to include a link and comment on this article by Kartik Krishnaiyer on the Major League Soccer Talk blog about Sven Goran Eriksson's early success with the Mexican national team and how the U.S. National Team could learn from that. I essentially agree that Eriksson has done a good job with Mexico and that I too was somewhat skeptical about this appointment when it was made.
