Apart from Rogers' sanctimonious talk about how small countries are victims, is there any reason to think that a US player would've been handled differently? While playing for Fulham, if McBride had un-retired internationally, the club would probably not have been happy. And it hasn't been that long since we played a Mexico qualifier without John O'Brien because he was pressured away by Ajax.

By the way, here's the original news story ... interesting to see that T&T is fielding a domestic-heavy team right now (so is Jamaica, iirc).
