Yup, I heard the collective sigh of relief from NY just as it  
happened......

Seriously, sorry to see his career end. I was really hoping he'd be  
able to put in a couple of solid years at NY and give US fans a chance  
to see a bit of his magic. Doesn't change a thing--he'll be remembered  
as one of the greats in US soccer history. What a class act. We all  
talk about what's missing from the US offense and, imo, he's what's  
missing. A great holding mid who had the skill and vision to pick a  
defense apart. We have no one like that on the team at present. Doug
