Title: FW: MLS - 26 Players Made Eligible For MLS Waiver Draft
NEW YORK (Tuesday, November 5, 2002) - Eight of Major League
Soccer's 10 teams made roster moves in preparation for the 2003 season as 26
players were made available for the MLS Waiver Draft scheduled for
Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 12:00 p.m. (ET) via conference call from the League's
headquarters in New York. Among the 26 players eligible for selection are
MLS' All-Time leading goal scorer Roy Lassiter (88 goals), who was waived by
D.C. United, and two-time U.S. World Cup goalkeeper Juergen Sommer, formerly
with the Eastern Conference champion New England Revolution.

Two teams that hired new head coaches during the last two weeks led
all teams by waiving five players each. The Chicago Fire, which appointed
U.S. National Team assistant Dave Sarachan as head coach on Monday, part
ways with veteran David Vaudreuil (17 appearances in 2002) among others. Two
weeks after handing the reigns to former Fire Head Coach Bob Bradley, the
MetroStars also waived five players including seven-year MLS defender Ted
Chronopoulos. The Colorado Rapids (4), D.C. United (4), San Jose Earthquakes
(3), New England Revolution (3), Los Angeles Galaxy (1) and Dallas Burn (1)
all waived players. The Columbus Crew and Kansas City Wizards were the two
teams not to release personnel. A list of players available for Wednesday's
