Re: [nas] WUSA All Star match. Did anyone watch?

Argh. I think it was mostly Beth Mowens that (personally)
drives me crazy. I to noticed at the start of the second half
that she mentioned that PGE Park was the home of the Triple A
Portland Beavers for the summer and no mention of soccer.
How about some background that Portland is home for other
soccer teams besides the Portland Pilots? The FC Portland teams
win numerous tournaments during the year and just down the
road in Salem is the Willamette womens team which is ranked as
one of the top 5 Div III teams in the US.

What's even more interesting is that sitting next to her is
one of the head officers in the WUSA and a former US National
team coach. There's no need to ask embarrasing questions, but
how about some inside information on the workings of the WUSA and
it's future. When will Portland or Seattle see a team?
Expansion plans etc. Another good question would be if the
women's side is strong enough that they could start a "project
40" group?
Of course all of these questions could have been asked in the
final 20-30 minutes as I couldn't take listening to much more of
Beth. The neatest thing about Dish PVR is that you can fast forward
at 4x. This is fast enough to watch for interesting things, but
not too fast to miss interesting things either. [Side note: I wish
my DVD player had this option]

later,
