One of the better articles I have seen so far. About the only one 
with some emotion.

But...

I have one question.

You refer to:

How many of us, if any, are 'sports fans' as defined by Bob Ryan? 
You need to read his somewhat lengthy treatise. Not me, not anyone I 
believe. There are just too many sports, and so-called sports that I 
just can't get enthused about.
