[nas] Sea of red...
Anyone besides me jealous?
I've always imagined a sea of red with every seat filled with
chanting fans. I just didn't think I would see it for another
Country.
I remember seeing the first Japan game and thinking that it was
pretty impressive. THEN I saw the first Korean game and realized
just how impressive the home crowd could be. The banners, the
drums, the singing simply amazing.
Even more impressive is the number of banners that are in
English. I can't imagine that they are doing this for the US
fans, or is this considered the common language at the WC?
As for chanting and unison etc I remember being at a US game
where the USA chant started up. What was really interesting was
that you could tell when the whole stadium was involved because
you would hear complete silence during the pauses and that it
seemed to push the crowd to make the chanting even louder. The
only problem is that it would only be kept going for a short
time.
On the other hand, Korea kept it going for all of the game.
I would love to have a DVD in either DD or DTS with full 5.1
(I would rather have been there )-8 ).
Here's my wish for the next game:
Announcer: "Let's take a moment to listen to the crowd and enjoy
the game. We'll be back in a minute..."
I would also like to know more about the songs and chants. I made
out "Ode to Joy" and was told that they were chanting Korea and
something about "Korea will win".
sigh...
