Yeah, but we don't use it in our day-to-day lives...I don't really understand it myself (especially nanograms, picoliters and sheet like that).

So you don't deal in mb, gb, mhz and gigaflops?

I don't understand pound (avoir dupois) and pounds (troy), or stones or slugs or even mommes

But 10 mm = 1cm , 100 cm = 1 m, 1,000 m = 1km is much easier than

16/16th " = 1 inch, 12 inches = 1 foot, 3 feet = 1 yard,  5260 feet = 1 mile or 1760 yds = 1 mile.
