Soccer is the same as basketball?

It is? You play the ball with ones hands in basketball that makes it a lot easier game to play.

You have to be freaky tall at the professional level even at the guard position to play. So most people have no chance at all to play in the NBA no matter how good they can become.

The field of play is much smaller in basketball. Defense in basketball merely means putting ones arms way up in the air, and/or  falling back to cover the goal. Easier to cover the goal/rim it is small. Harder to cover the goal in soccer it is big. You need to understand making the goal small by positioning.

You play basket ball for under an hour 48 minutes. That is only half a game in soccer. You have unlimited substitutions in basketball. You can rest your stars when they tire, and they are free to reenter the game later. You cannot do this in soccer.

You have 4 quarters in basketball meaning more time to rest.

You have time outs allocated in basketball to stop play to work things out, and rest players.

Most of basketball involves rehearsed set plays that you use in the run of play. You don't have that in soccer unless there is a foul just outside the goal.

Can you play a zone defense in Basketball at the professional level? If I remember right you can't unless they changed that. No zone makes it easier for a team to score.

You have 2pt baskets, and a three point baskets, and you can be fouled for more scoring for a 4 pt play. Easier to catch up if you get behind isn't it?

This is the same as our game? I don't think so. Is there offside in Basketball? So you can't basket hang by the basket? I don't think so, you can hang by the basket that is an advantage no offside.

The only similarities I can see is heading is similar to rebounding. In that surprising it is more about getting your position then it is about out jumping your opponent for the ball and a header. Most basketball lovers don't even know that. They just thing one out jumps the opponent for a rebound.

I think if you had to make an analogy with another sport it might be Hockey, and that might not even be a good one. But I think it is a better one then Basketball.

I know Pointy is called football, and at times in pointy you can even kick the ball with your foot. So that might even be closer to our game then basketball.
