RE: [nas] USA v Korea [R]

Actually, I said that I think Donovan is the better overall player. I never
said that Mathis wasn't a good all around player. Let me rephrase. I agree
with you that Mathis is a great all-around player, and I've seen him in
midfield for the Metrostars many times. But what you're saying also helps
to enforce how great an all around player that Donovan is. Of course he's
young and has a lot to learn about composure, confidence, etc. No matter
how confident you can act or be, at age 20, few players have the mental
prowess of the star players in their prime (mid to late 20's). That is when
the body is peaking or peaked and the mind is at its best. After that, it's
all downhill... ;) BTW: Did I mention that I was 28.. :))))

You guys are nuts ;-).
Mathis's natural position was midfield....it is what got him on the map
initially.
He has a deft touch, good passer, and can make incisive runs at the defense
etc.
Saying he is not a good all around player is
nonsensical to me. Who turned the match around in Columbus when he came on
for Reyna
in"midfield" with some decisive runs, vertical passing and a match winning
one time assist to Wolff?

 C'mon guys....do we forget already?
