Well, my pocketbook isn't happy, as I bet someone that the French would
repeat, and now I have to buy beer after every one of our matches for the
rest of the season.  So, I'm pissed at the French for 
that.

However, I think that FIFA's decision to abolish the rule that the champs
are exempt from qualification looks better now that this has happened.
France has not played a game in anger since winning the Euro championship
(sorry, I don't include the Confederations Cup). Frankly, they looked it
too and they just played awful in this tournament.  I think that
their legacy will never be as big as they wanted, as they won the WC at
home, and the Euro title practically next door to them.
